Porcelain Veneers

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin layers of porcelain shells that are bonded to the front of teeth for cosmetic enhancement purposes.

Porcelain Veneer Procedure

Dr. DiLoreto will conduct an initial exam followed by a patient/doctor consultation.

A thin layer of tooth enamel is removed and an impression is taken to send to the lab. Temporary restorations will then be placed on the teeth while the permanent veneers are being fabricated at the lab. When the porcelain veneers are returned to our Detroit area facility, Dr. DiLoreto will adjust and fit the veneers and bond them to your teeth using a special bonding material.

Are you a Good Candidate for Porcelain Veneers?

  • You are in good oral health.
  • You have realistic goals and have an understanding of what the procedure entails.
  • You have stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth that you wish to correct.

Instant Orthodontics

Instant orthodontics offers an alternative for people who don’t want to spend years in uncomfortable braces. Dr. DiLoreto can dramatically improve overcrowded, misshapen, and crooked teeth with porcelain veneers.

What is Instant Orthodontics?

Many people would choose to live with overcrowded and misshapen teeth rather than spend years in cumbersome, uncomfortable braces. Now, thanks to instant orthodontics, our Detroit area practice is able to provide patients with an alternative that produces results equal to those of traditional braces in a fraction of the time.

Instant Orthodontic Procedure

Instant Orthodontics at our Detroit area office is accomplished using porcelain veneers and crowns. The doctor will first do a thorough examination and assessment of your teeth to determine which teeth require veneers and which require dental crowns. Depending on the doctor’s determination, impressions are made and sent to the lab.

When the dental crowns and veneers are returned from the lab, the doctor will use his artistic and technical skill to shape, mold and apply the crowns and veneers to your teeth using specially formulated bonding materials. Post-procedural discomfort is usually minimal and can be relieved with over-the-counter pain remedies. With veneers and crowns, the doctor can alter the shape, length and color of your teeth and dramatically improve your smile.

Are you a Good Candidate for Instant Orthodontics?

  • You are in good oral health.
  • You do not think braces are a good alternative for you.
  • You have realistic expectations and relevant knowledge about the procedure.
  • Your teeth are crooked, uneven, or gapped.

The artistic and technical ability that comes into play during this procedure is significant. Dr. DiLoreto’s experience and skill will reduce the risk of complications and ensure your results will be natural-looking and of a superior quality.

If you think that you might be a good candidate for instant orthodontics, contact our cosmetic dentist in the Detroit area to schedule an appointment.

Teeth Whitening Throughout the Detroit Area

What is Teeth Whitening?

Currently one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures, several teeth whitening options are available at our Detroit area practice. Teeth whitening is the process of whitening teeth using a peroxide based material. It is one of the most effective cosmetic dental procedures in improving stained and discolored teeth.

Teeth Whitening Procedure

In-Office Whitening:

Our Detroit area office is specially equipped with the most advanced laser bleaching equipment. The Biolase Diode Laser promotes teeth whitening which continues to whiten teeth several days after the procedure is completed. A bleaching solution is applied to your teeth and a whitening laser activates the solution. Within one hour, your teeth are several shades lighter.

At-Home Whitening:

For the at-home teeth whitening option, you will leave our Metro Detroit office with a custom made whitening tray. The doctor will prescribe a plan for you and send you home with instructions on how to use the whitening material. A follow-up visit is made two to three weeks after the initial visit where the doctor will assess the success of the treatment.

Are you a Good Candidate for Teeth Whitening?

  • You have stained and discolored teeth that you wish to improve.
  • You have realistic expectations and understand the procedure.
  • You do not have extensive bridge or crown work or porcelain veneers.

If you think your teeth could benefit from our teeth whitening procedures, please contact our cosmetic dentist in the Detroit area to schedule an appointment.

Tooth-colored Fillings

What is a Tooth-colored Filling?

While silver fillings are generally less expensive than tooth-colored fillings, the disadvantages are fairly significant. Firstly, as far as aesthetics is concerned, there is no comparison. Composite fillings are made from a tooth-colored resin which looks and feels like natural teeth. The resin is bonded to teeth, making them stronger and more aesthetically pleasing. Secondly, unlike traditional fillings, composite fillings contain no toxic and damaging mercury.

Composite fillings are most often used to fill spaces in teeth, reshape teeth, or to correct tooth discolorations.

Tooth-Colored Filling Procedure

  • Any existing decay is removed from the tooth.
  • The neighboring tooth or teeth are lightly buffed.
  • The bonding material is applied to the tooth.
  • Adjustment and final polishing is done and the procedure is complete.

Are you a Good Candidate for a tooth-colored filling?

  • You have a space that needs filling.
  • You would like to replace old silver fillings.
  • You are fully informed of all of your options and the details of the procedure.
  • You are in good oral health and do not have any preexisting health problems precluding you from the procedure.
