Secure Your New Smile with Dental Implants

Dental Implants DetroitDental implants at our Detroit practice are a more permanent way to fix and restore one’s smile. At DiLoreto Dental Care, we try to educate our clients on all of the options available to them when it comes to improving their dental health. Dr. David DiLoreto meets personally with each of our patients during an initial consultation and examination. Working with our experienced staff, Dr. DiLoreto will determine whether dental implants are right for you.

Types of Dental Implants

Some of the types of dental implants include temporary, two-stage, and single-stage dental implants.

  • Temporary dental implant – A temporary dental implant at our Detroit practice is just that: temporary. While you are waiting to have your single-stage or two-stage implants crafted, you will be fitted with a temporary crown. The temporary crown will allow you to go about your daily routine until the permanent implant is ready to be fitted.
  • Two-stage dental implant – The two-stage dental implant requires two surgical procedures. The first procedure involves the securing of the implant in the jaw bone and then the suturing of the soft tissue over the implant. Over a period of time, the jaw will attach itself to the implant through a process called osseointegration. During the second procedure, Dr. DiLoreto will expose the head of the implant and secure the restoration in place.
  • Single-stage dental implant – The major advantage of the single-stage dental implant is that it allows you to avoid a second surgical procedure. A longer implant is used so that, once it is placed, the head of the implant will be exposed at the level of the soft tissue. As a result, there will be no need for a second surgery to expose the top of the dental implant.

Temporary implants are used for the short-term aesthetic restoration of one’s smile. This means that you can walk out of the dental office with a natural-looking smile while your permanent implant-supported restorations are being crafted. The next step is to decide between a single-stage or two-stage dental implant at our Detroit practice. Both types of implants have about the same success rate of around 98 percent, so the decision really comes down to which type you and Dr. DiLoreto find best suited to your case.

Implants function very much the same as natural teeth, and there is no discomfort from shifting, rubbing, and clicking as with removable dentures or dental bridges. By choosing dental implants at our Detroit practice, you are not restricting the foods you can eat or compromising your ability to chew, talk, and laugh as you would with a fixed bridge or denture. With proper oral hygiene and regular checkups, dental implants have been known to last for 20 years or even longer. Many of our patients who need dentures are ecstatic with the comfort and stability they get from using implants to support their denture smile.

The cost of dental implants at our Detroit practice depends on many variables, including the number of teeth being replaced and the type of implant being used. Dental implant prices generally fall somewhere between $4,000 and $40,000. Complex restorative dental cases require an equally complex combination of skill, experience, and training. Your porcelain teeth will be crafted to the finest detail and highest quality, and they will give you the radiant, beautiful smile you deserve.
