Dental Bridge Detroit

Bridge the Gap to a Brighter Smile

If you are missing one or more of your natural teeth, there are several dental options to consider. One of the best of these options is a dental bridge at the Detroit-area practice of DiLoreto Dental Care.

Types of Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is comprised of a pontic, or artificial tooth, attached to two crowns. These crowns are placed over the teeth adjacent to a gap so that the artifical tooth fills the space. There are three types of dental bridges available to our Detroit-area patients depending on their case: traditional bridges, cantilever bridges, and Maryland bonded bridges.

Of the three types, traditional dental bridges are most commonly used at our Detroit practice due to their higher rate of success rate compared to cantilever and Maryland bonded bridges. However, the success rate of traditional bridges has been surpassed by that of dental implants. Dental implants are now more commonly used due to their cost efficiency, superior durability, and lack of dependence on surrounding natural teeth for support. Because of this, implants are often an ideal treatment although, in certain circumstances, bridges remain the best alternative.

The Procedure

The dental bridges procedure at our Detroit practice begins with a thorough examination of the teeth and explanation of the procedures that will be performed. The adjacent teeth are reduced and prepared to receive the dental crowns. An impression is taken and sent to the lab to create the dental bridge. Once completed, the bridge is cemented into place. The cost of the dental bridge at our Detroit practice varies from patient to patient, depending on the case. The price range is anywhere from $4,000 to $12,000, depending on the number of teeth missing. A good candidate for a dental bridge is a patient who is missing one or several teeth, has a clear understanding the procedure, and is in good health.

Join Our Satisfied Dental Bridge Patients

One of the satisfied dental bridge patients of our practice is Jim Harper, a well-known and much loved radio personality in the Metro Detroit area. The dental bridge previously in place in the upper right side of Jim’s mouth was 30 years old, loose, and worn. After a consultation with Dr. David Diloreto, Jim and Dr. Diloreto concluded that a new dental bridge would be the best solution for his case. Jim was then refitted with a new bridge. The picture below shows how the new dental bridge complements the rest of his smile. Jim is now able to wear his smile with confidence, and so can you.
